This right here is the first car Campbell owned that he named Bluebird. It’s a 1906 Darracq Grand Prix car. Oddly enough, it’s F rench racing blue.

The size ratio between the driver and the car makes me think that’ s an M8 he’s driving.

It’s a big-ass car in person - the radiator comes up to mid chest height. Big-ass engine too: 14 liter 100hp 4cyl.
The contrast is enhanced by the fact that the driver is s little old lady. Anne Thompson, 64 when I took this photo and about 5’3”. She drives it like she stole it, too. Manual everything, bicycle tires, rear wheel braking only, and she got up Rod Millen’s drive at about 2/3 of the pace of his Pikes Peak winning Toyota
